Buzz is a tall, leggy lurcher who is 3.5  years old.

He is a real sweetheart who loves a cuddle and the freedom of burning off some energy in our offlead paddock.

Buzz can be nervous around new people, so he does require some understanding and time to accept someone new into his space. He has hugely improved with this since being in our care.  This is bourne simply out of insecurity and once he knows you, he is a very sweet and affectionate boy.

Buzz walks well on a lead but can react to some dogs when passing, particularly if they are walking towards him. He can be distracted with treats to keep his attention focus, but this will need someone with experience of this issue in order to continue training and manage this.

Despite him reacting to other dogs that he doesn’t know, he has made some pals whilst here, and he loves a play and a walk with the dogs that he has grown to know and like. These are dogs of a similar size and energy level to him. With this in mind, we wouldn’t rule out placing Buzz in an experienced home with another dog, subject to the right match and successful meet and greets.

Buzz was rehomed recently and his adopters spent quite some time building a wonderful bond with him so that he could take the steps to transition to a move to their home. Unfortunately, after only 3 weeks of being in the home, on an occasion that Buzz was left, he caused some damage to a carpet and was returned to the shelter. Buzz has been in kennels for over 2 years so adjusting to a new environment , homelife and routine will require someone who has the same experience, patience and understanding that building a bond with him would require.

Buzz was non destructive throughout his time in kennels so we feel that once settled, this anxiety would cease once he is comfortable in his new surroundings and routine.

We are looking for an experienced , calm, child free home for Buzz where he can continue to gain confidence in people and life in general.

He cannot be rehomed with cats or small furries.
