A Tribute to Rocky

Rocky was adopted from Hull Animal Welfare back in 2009, joining his new forever family.  Rocky was just 15 months old when he was adopted from our centre and he had been desperately waiting for a new home for quite some time.  We believe his sheer size was what put people off but luckily this didn’t phase his new family and after seeing him they fell in love!

He joined them in their family home and was fantastic from the off!  He was very devoted to the family, including their children and subsequent grandchildren and enjoyed many family holidays. He also entered his fair share of dog shows and latterly into the Veterans classes!  In October of 2018 Rocky and his family moved to Scotland where he thoroughly enjoyed his regular daily walks through the forestry and his favourite place down at the loch side (although his family say he was slightly adverse to getting wet above the knees!).

Thankfully Rocky enjoyed an unblemished bill of health until the beginning of March 2019 when he became very poorly very quickly and sadly it was time for him to cross over to rainbow bridge.  He was surrounded by his family until the end and received tremendous care.

Rocky’s family wanted to thank us for such a wonderful companion who they described as a true gentleman who brought them lots of great memories over the years and they wanted to share his story as a tribute to him and the fantastic life they all shared together.  We would like to thank Rocky’s family for giving him such happiness and care throughout his life.
